How to Use Accupressure to Stop Smoking
The healing properties of the ancient Chinese art of acupressure have been lauded for centuries. Recently, acupressure has proven to be a useful tool in helping smokers quit their addiction. By activating certain acupressure points on the skin, the energy meridians in the body become stimulated, prompting enhanced energy flow and encouraging the body's innate powers of self healing. When utilizing acupressure for smoking cessation, there are several different pressure points to help you put down the cigarettes once and for all.Instructions

1
Stimulate the "Letting Go" point. Located three fingers' width under the collarbone, beside the bone of the upper arm, the "Letting Go" point can be roused with gentle pressure. Apply a fair amount of force but not enough to cause pain. Hold for 10 to 15 seconds and breathe deeply.

2
Place the palm of your hand above the ankle bone. When you have measured one palm's width up from the top of the ankle, on the back of the shin, you have located another powerful acupressure point. Using your fingertip, press forcefully -- but not painfully -- into the point. Pressure should be applied for 15 to 30 seconds.

3
Measure one palm's width below the bottom edge of the kneecap. Feel around a bit, and you will find a natural hollow between the leg muscle and shin. This point should also be stimulated using a comfortable amount of force with the fingertip for approximately 15 to 30 seconds.

4
Rest your fingertip in the crease of your elbow. A pressure point is found on the side of the crease that is in line with the thumb of that arm's hand. You can then apply pressure for up to 30 seconds.

5
Put your fingertip right below your breast bone at the center of your chest. This is the solar plexus area and is a very powerful location in alternative healing. Stimulate this area with your fingers, utilizing a fair amount of painless pressure, for 15 to 30 seconds.
