Superbrain Yoga Exercises

Superbrain yoga is a mental stimulation technique developed by master Choa Kok Sui, renowned author and founder of the Pranic Healing and Arhatic Yoga systems. This method of yoga is based on the idea of acupuncture in the ears energizing the brain. Superbrain yoga is said to promote healthy brain function and activity.
  1. How Does It Work?

    • Superbrain yoga is based on the principle of energy sources in the human body that can be controlled in certain ways. By combining breathing technique, ear acupressure and body position, superbrain yoga can harmonize the body's energy and encourage the left and right hemispheres of the brain to become active in unison.

    The Practice

    • The precise technique of superbrain yoga is important as the accuracy of your practice is said to affect the results. To perform the exercise, first remove all jewellery and stand up straight in a clear space. Pinch your right ear lobe with your left hand, thumb in front, then cross your right arm over your left and pinch the left ear lobe with your right hand, thumb in front. Gently squeeze both ear lobes at the same time. Place the tip of your tongue on the roof of your mouth just behind your front teeth. Inhale through your nose and slowly squat down, then exhale through your nose as you stand back up. Repeat the exercise 15 times each day.

    Effects

    • The effects of superbrain yoga have been recorded in groups of school children with positive results. Children with learning difficulties and behavioral disabilities were shown to have increased confidence to learn independently and elevated moods. In other children, test scores and classroom participation improved. The exercise is also said to have positive effects on adults; helping with concentration and productivity when done on a regular basis.
