Can all types of acne be cured?
Not all types of acne can be cured. Some forms of acne, such as mild comedonal or inflammatory acne, may be effectively managed or controlled with a proper skincare routine and over-the-counter acne treatments. Moderate to severe forms, including nodulocystic and cystic acne, can be more challenging to treat and may require the guidance of a dermatologist, often involving prescription medications, topicals, or procedures. In those cases, the goal is to achieve significant improvement rather than a complete cure, as some underlying factors contributing to acne (hormonal imbalances, genetics, etc.) can have persistent or intermittent effects on the skin. Even after successful treatment, some individuals may experience some degree of scarring or recurrence. Regular follow-ups and maintenance may be recommended to manage the condition over the long term successfully.
