Mix equal three parts white vinegar to one part rubbing alcohol. Put a few drops in the affected ear canal. Remain on your side for several minutes, then put a piece of cotton ball in the ear opening to prevent it from leaking out onto your clothing. This combination is especially effective in treating earaches caused by swimmer's ear (water in the ear canal).

For those who are a little more "green," use the same ratio as before (3:1), but instead of white vinegar, use organic unpasteurized apple cider vinegar with the mother in it.

3
Warm some castor oil by placing the closed bottle in a bowl of hot (not boiling) water. Using a sterile dropper, draw up some of the oil and put it into the affected ear canal. Do this three or four times a day until the pain is gone.

Garlic has antibacterial properties, and is known to cure earaches. To use it, put garlic juice (available at most health food stores) into the ear canal. Alternatively, you can smash (not mince) several cloves of garlic and let them steep in room-temperature oil for at least several hours. Use a sterile dropper to draw up some of the garlicky oil and put it into the ear canal. Repeat a few times a day.
