      Choose eucalyptus products which contain the eucalyptus forms blue gum or Australian fever tree. While there are many species of eucalyptus, these two varieties have the greatest medicinal properties.

      Make eucalyptus tea from either fresh or dried eucalyptus to soothe a cough. Break a single leaf into small pieces and place it in a large mug. Cover with boiling water, cover and allow to steep for 5 minutes and add a bit of honey if you like. Children under 6 should drink only three cups each day, while adults may drink up to five, sipping slowly while hot.

      Use eucalyptus tincture if dried or fresh leaves are not available. Simply add 10 drops to a glass of warm water, drinking three times each day.
