How to Unblock Your Nose

- Lavender oil
- Menthol
- German chamomile
- Ceramic bowl
- 4 cups water

Wild German chamomile has active phytochemicals within it that help to clear up your blocked nose quickly and safely. First, take 2 handfuls of the dry bulk herb and put them in a ceramic bowl.

Boil your water separately on the stove and then pour into your bowl of chamomile. Do not heat the herb directly or it will destroy the effective compunds.

Sit with your head bent over the bowl and breathe in directly. Place a towel over your head to concentrate the steam inhalation. Chamomile opens up your airways and allows you to breathe freely. It also has a reputation as a sleep aid, so it's best to do this before you retire for the evening.

If you want a quick fix, carry a vial of lavender oil (available at health food stores) around in your bag or purse. Then take it out and breathe it in when your nose gets blocked. Like chamomile, it has a relaxing effect so you can tackle a blocked nose and anxiety at the same time with this treatment.
