How to Super-Glue a Cut Together

Super-glue can be used to close a small cut by serving as a fake, outer-layer of skin. This glue works as a band-aid while your wound heals and will naturally wear off over time. However, this method is only for use on minor cuts, if you have a severe cut please see a doctor for stitches or other treatment.

Instructions

    • 1

Clean the cut with warm, soapy water and antiseptic. Let it dry well.

    • 2

Squeeze the cut closed and add a touch of super-glue over the small wound. Spread evenly with a cotton swab or small applicator.

    • 3

Allow the glue to dry while applying light pressure and holding the cut closed. This may take a few minutes but make sure you have the cut sealed the way you would like it to heal.

    • 4

Know that the glue will serve as an outer coating to protect the cut from dirt, debris and infection. It will be mostly waterproof but remember that the super-glue is not invincible, it is only a temporary solution and you could still re-open the cut.

Be aware that over a short period of time the glue will begin to wear but new skin should be growing underneath. By the time the super-glue wears off, your cut should be mostly healed.
