1
Take two caprylic acid capsules with an eight ounce glass of water 30 minutes before meals. Ingesting before meals may help deter some of the side effects, for instance, nausea. Due to the lack of in-depth research, The Integrative Practitioner suggests not exceeding a dosage of 1200 mg per day.

2
Take one to two tablespoons of extra virgin coconut oil daily. The ingestion of coconut oil by the spoonful may be easier to swallow than capsules. According to the Coconut Board of India, coconut oil has health benefits such as ease of digestibility, reducing fat accumulation in the body and inhibiting chemical carcinogens.

Goat's milk is another form of caprylic acid. Drink four to eight ounces of goat's or cow's milk daily for those who do not like coconut. Besides the caprylic acid, goat's milk and cow's milk contain other nutrients beneficial to human health.
