How to Put Tiger Balm on a Pile

Tiger Balm is a natural but powerful analgesic that is very effective in decreasing the painful and annoying symptoms associated with piles. Piles, also known as hemorrhoids, are caused by increased pressure on the rectal veins and may present externally as enlarged subcutaneous blood vessels around the anus. As a topical ointment, Tiger Balm may be used only on external piles. The active ingredients in Tiger Balm that provide relief are camphor, menthol, clove oil, cajuput oil, and mint oil.

  Take a bath in warm water to completely clean the anus and remove any debris that may be surrounding the hemmorrhoid. After sitting in water for about 15 minutes, you may apply an ice pack to reduce swelling before applying the balm.

  Scoop out a nickel- to quarter-sized amount of Tiger Balm to cover the affected area completely. When applied to a pile, Tiger Balm relieves achiness, itchiness, and pain on contact.

  Apply a thin layer to cover the area completely. Massage any excess into the skin. Do not wash the balm off. Allow it to soak into the skin. When Tiger Balm is applied properly, you'll experience immediate relief from pain and itchiness. To speed healing, wear light cotton underwear. This will keep heat from getting trapped in the area.
