Is Enzyte a Permanent Male Enhancement?
Enzyte is the brand name of a popular herbal supplement for male sexual performance. Whether or not the results are permanent, some men find it effective and others do not.-
Product Claims
-
The marketing language states that Enzyte can provide firmer, fuller erections. It does not claim to be a permanent cure for erectile dysfunction.
Company History
-
The company was founded by Stephen Warshak, who is serving a prison sentence for false advertising, fraud and other charges under the old company name Berkeley Premium Nutraceuticals. The new company name is Vianda, and the firm is under new ownership. CoreyNahman.com, a drug review site, states the new owners appear to be complying with the law.
Horny Goat Weed, Tribulus Terrestris
-
Two of the main ingredients in Enzyte are horny goat weed (epimedium sagittatum) and tribulus terrestris. These have been used for centuries as aphrodisiacs. A study of epimedium conducted at the General Hospital of PLA in Beijing suggests it has a positive sexual and renal effect. A study published by A.J. Martino-Andrade et. al. in the "Journal of Ethnopharmacology" on Sept 23, 2009, states that tribulus showed no effect on testosterone levels.
Other Ingredients
-
Ginseng, ginkgo biloba, niacin and other ingredients are included for their perceived effect of improving circulation while the supplement is in the system. Ginseng has been known to increase blood pressure, so you should consult with your doctor before taking this product if you have uncontrolled high blood pressure.
Conclusion
-
Enzyte's effect, if any, is probably only temporary. According to Corey Nahman, a pharmacist who reviews medications on his website, the effects wear off when you stop taking the product.
