How to Make Biblical Spikenard Oil
Things You'll Need
- Spikenard roots
- Carrier oil such as olive oil or almond oil
- Kitchen mallet (or hammer)
- Small sealable plastic bags
- Two mason jars with lids
- Funnel
- Small bottles with eyedroppers or lids

Impart scent of spikenard rhizomes, or roots, into your carrier oil. You can place the roots in a sealed plastic bag and slightly bruise them using your mallet. Then transfer the bruised roots in a mason jar containing your carrier oil. Let the roots release their odor into the oil over the course of several days, keeping the jar in a moderate-temperature dry environment, shaking occasionally to help the roots completely release their scent..

Separate the roots from the oil. Remove the lid from the jar containing the oil and roots and place cheesecloth over its mouth. Pour the oil into your second jar.

Transfer your scented oil into smaller bottles using a funnel.
