1
Wash your hands prior to mixing oils. Add 4 tsp. (20 ml) of carrier oil to a clean mixing bottle. Carrier oil is an oil with a low scent, such as jojoba.
-
2
Add 10 drops of your choice of essential oils for a 2.5 percent dilution. This strength is best for massage use. You can mix scents to create your own blend. Aromacures indicates that you should keep in mind that oriental and spicy oils can become overpowering if used in excess. Wood scents work well with most oils.
-
3
For a 1 percent dilution, use only four drops of essential oils. This blend is suited for children between 3 and 10 years old and for pregnant women.
-
4
Make sure the lid is tightly closed and shake the bottle to mix well. Label all aromatherapy blends so you will know how to make it again.
-
5
Store your blends in a dark, cool place. Brown bottles and proper storage can help them last for years.
