How to Use Essential Oils for Anxiety

There are many essential oils that work for anxiety, including bergamot, cedarwood, marjoram, geranium and lavender. Lavender is one of the most popular and effective choices, but your choice depends on your needs and your preferences. There are many ways you can use these essential oils to deal with anxiety.

Instructions

    • 1

Drop a few drops of your chosen essential oils into a warm bath, light a few candles and let your anxiety disappear as you soak for about 15 minutes. Feel free to mix and match essential oils to find a blend that smells good to you.

    • 2

Add a few drops to a carrier oil and use as a massage oil. Since this is aromatherapy, you will receive some benefit from using the oils on another person, though it's best if the oils are used on yourself.

    • 3

Dribble a few drops onto a cotton ball, close your eyes and breathe deeply for a few minutes to reduce your anxiety.

    • 4

Place a drop of essential oils into a hot bowl of water, stick your head close to the bowl and breathe deeply for a few minutes to reduce anxiety.
