Homemade Aromatherapy Scent Inhaler

Essential oils and home diffusers for aromatherapy abound in stores and on-line retailers; there are also inhalers designed for travel. These small devices allow you to take your favorite scents with you wherever you go, but many aromatherapy supplies are costly. Save money by making your own travel inhaler; you can create one for each ailment, or simply carry an essential oil to help you conquer a stressful day at work or the headache of a traffic jam.

Instructions

  1. The Hankerchief

    • 1

Fold a square handkerchief in half, then in half again so you have a square 1/4 the size of the original.

    • 2

Use a dropper bottle to place a few drops of your favorite essential oil between the layers of cloth. Do not place any outside on the very top or the very bottom.

    • 3

Seal the handkerchief in a zip-lock bag to help preserve the scent.

    • 4

Remove the handkerchief from the bag and inhale whenever you need the relief of your special scents.

    The Vial

    • 5

Place a small wad of cotton in the bottom of a small vial.

    • 6

Add a few drops of your essential oils to the cotton inside the vial.

    • 7

Seal the lid tightly. When you need relief, unscrew the lid and inhale. The cotton will prevent any oil from spilling out.
