• Warm water
• Sea salt

  Prepare the salt water solution. Mix together eight ounces of warm water with 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt in the neti pot and stir until dissolved. Using hot water is dangerous to your nose so ensure the water temperature is only lukewarm.

  Stand over a sink and tilt your head to one side. Insert the spout of the pot into the nostril that is facing up. You want your head to be in a position where the water will gently flow into the top nostril and out through the lower one. Relax and breathe through your mouth during this process. Do this for 15 to 30 seconds or until all of your solution is used up.

  Exhale strongly through your nose to remove any remaining water.

  Refill the pot and switch sides. Tilt your head in the other direction and repeat the process with the other nostril.
