How to Cure Oil for an Indian Oil Bath
Indian oil baths are used for stress relief, to ease insomnia and as a beauty treatment. These "baths" involve smoothing the oil all over the skin, wrapping up in warm towels for 30 minutes, and then wiping off the oil and rinsing your body. You can make your own oil for an Indian oil bath at home, but there is a short curing process---do not wait until the last minute to make it.Things You'll Need
- Sesame oil (clear and odorless---not for cooking)
- 2 sticks of cinnamon
- 6 cloves
- Bay leaf
- Nutmeg
- Airtight container
- Strainer

1
Combine the ingredients in the airtight container. Use 1/4-cup sesame oil, the cinnamon sticks and cloves, a crumbled bay leaf and 1/4 tsp. nutmeg. You can swirl or stir the ingredients to immerse them in the oil.

2
Cure your oil by covering it and placing it in a dark cupboard for at least a week. It should remain cool, and no outside air should be allowed in during this time.

3
Strain the oil. You can strain it into another airtight container or a decorative bottle with a stopper.
