What Is the Difference of Biomodulator Plus & Tens?
-
Function
-
TENS, or Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulator, is a biofeedback device that directly excites nerves along the skin. In contrast, the Biomodulator Plus uses the nerves as pathways to excite the brain for healing processes. Both use these signals to calm chronic pain issues.
Significance
-
Rather than treating pain with drugs that can cause side effects or addiction for a patient, a biofeedback device provides relief from pain by using the body's nerve system against the pain reaction.
Warning
-
Both the Biomodulator Plus and TENS utilize electrical signals to function. These devices should not be used on patients that have cardiac pacemakers, over blood vessels that could possibly have clots, on the carotid artery, or on the eyes.
