Can you be bionic or not?

A person cannot be bionic in the sense of having mechanical enhancements that replace or augment natural body parts, as seen in science fiction. Bionic parts that can fully emulate the complexity and adaptability of human organs and tissues currently remain speculative and are beyond our present technological capabilities. However, the term "bionic" is sometimes used loosely to refer to individuals who utilize advanced assistive technologies, such as prosthetic limbs or cochlear implants, which help restore or enhance certain bodily functions.
