When was the blow dryer invented?
The first blow dryer was invented in 1890 by Alexander Godefoy, a French hairdresser. It was a large, stationary device that used hot air to dry hair. Over the following decades, the blow dryer evolved into a smaller, portable device. In 1915, the General Electric Company released the first hand-held blow dryer. However, it wasn't until the 1950s, when blow dryers became more affordable and easier to use, that they became a popular household appliance.
