What should you do if your two breaths not go in to the victim?

If the rescuer’s two breaths don’t go in

*Check for an airway obstruction.

*Open the airway using head tilt/chin lift or jaw thrust.

*If the object can be seen, remove it cautiously with a finger sweep or use back blows and chest thrusts.

*Give two rescue breaths.

If an airway obstruction continues

*Continue with steps to relieve an obstructed airway.

If there is still an obstruction

*Turn the victim on their side and give back blows and chest thrusts.

If the obstruction is relieved

*Continue CPR according to the compression to ventilation ratio of 30:2 until:

*There are signs of life:

*The person starts breathing

*The person coughs

*The person moves

*An AED is available and ready to use

*Emergency Medical Service (EMS) personnel take over
