Directions for Dacige Balls

Dacige balls, also known as Qigong balls, are an ancient form of exercise practiced in Chinese medicine. The user holds two small metal or stone balls in one hand and rotates them with his fingers. The exercise is intended to stimulate motor activity and blood flow to the hand. Vibrating parts in each ball generate a relaxing sound during use.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the Dacige balls side by side on your right or left palm. Use the hand you write with at first while you learn.

    • 2

Grip the balls with your fingers loosely enough for you to move the balls.

    • 3

Use your fingers and palm muscles to rotate the balls so they swap places, one over the top of the other.

    • 4

Keep rotating the balls until you get a feel for the action.

    • 5

Change direction, rotating the balls the opposite way. If you were rotating them clockwise, now do it counter-clockwise.

    • 6

Change hands when you feel confident about rotating the balls in both directions.
