Herbs That Increase & Boost DHEA
Dehydroepiandrosterone, or DHEA, is a steroid hormone produced by the adrenal glands. Some of its functions are aiding the immune system and helping protect the body against the effects of stress. DHEA is a precursor to both the male (testosterone) and female (estrogen) sex hormones and helps maintain normal levels of both throughout the body. Although the natural production of DHEA declines with age, certain herbs encourage the body to make more DHEA even though they do not actually contain the hormone.-
