1
Roll the air-drying clay between your hands into a ball to make it warm and pliable. Select a non-toxic air-drying clay from a craft or hobby supply shop. Air-drying porcelain is adequate, but other types exist.
-
2
Roll the ball of clay into a rounded-edged rectangle like shape measuring 6-by-8-inches. It should be about 1-inch thick.
-
3
Remove the front from the picture frame. Leave the back on it. Place the rolled out clay shape into the center of the picture frame.
-
4
Hold your baby's hand or foot carefully in one hand. Press it down in the center of the clay gently, but firmly. Hold the hand or foot in place for 10 seconds and then release, leaving behind the print.
-
5
Sit the framed clay print somewhere cool and dry to air-dry for 48 hours. The end-result will be a hardened clay mold of your baby's hand or foot.
