How to Avoid Bad Neck Manipulation Through Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic care for neck pain is focused on 'adjusting' your neck based on the location of your pain. The theory behind chiropractic care is that readjustment of the neck and spinal cord will allow the rest of the body to heal itself. Chiropractors treat headaches, neck pain, lower back pain and joint conditions. It's better to exercise due diligence ahead of time than be stuck with a sore neck on the table.Things You'll Need

1
Investigate the techniques of your chiropractor before visiting. Locate your state's chiropractic association through Chiropractic.org to find out if there have been any complaints, malpractice suits or other reasons to avoid your chiropractic care provider (see Resources below).
-
2
Ask your chiropractor for referrals / testimonials from other patients who have had neck manipulations. Only doctors with nothing to hide will feel free to have you speak with other patients. Today's HIPPA rules prohibit giving you access to patient names, but the chiropractor should be able to contact a patient on your behalf and set up a conversation.

3
Observe the waiting room of your provider. If it's continually busy, ask some of the patients waiting what they think of the care they receive. Anyone with a war story will be happy to share it. More than likely, if the storytellers are still seeing that chiropractor, the provider must be doing something right.

4
Know what to expect in terms of cost. Fees for chiropractic visits are usually inexpensive to moderately priced.
