Why are men most likely to be color blind than women?
The most prevalent form of color blindness, red-green color blindness, is inherited in an X-linked recessive pattern. This means that the gene for red-green color blindness is located on the X chromosome. Males have only one X chromosome, while females have two. This means that if a male inherits one copy of the color blindness gene, he will have red-green color blindness. Females, on the other hand, must inherit two copies of the gene in order to be color blind. This is why men are most likely to be color blind than women.
