What can that mean if your period blood is light orange?
There are several reasons why your period blood might be light orange. Some of these reasons are relatively harmless, while others can be more serious.
Potential causes of light orange period blood
* Spotting: Spotting is light bleeding or discharge that occurs outside of your regular menstrual period. It can be caused by a variety of factors, including:
* Hormonal changes
* Stress
* Infection
* Trauma to the uterus or cervix
* Pregnancy
* Old blood: If you have a long menstrual cycle, the blood that you see towards the end of your period may be lighter in color because it has had more time to break down.
* Certain medications: Some medications, such as birth control pills and anticoagulants (blood thinners), can lighten your menstrual flow.
* Anemia: Anemia is a condition in which you have a low red blood cell count. This can cause your period blood to be lighter in color.
* Asherman's syndrome: Asherman's syndrome is a condition in which the lining of the uterus becomes scarred. This can cause your period blood to be lighter in color and/or cause you to have irregular menstrual cycles.
* Ectopic pregnancy: An ectopic pregnancy is a pregnancy that occurs outside of the uterus, usually in the fallopian tube. This can cause light orange or brown vaginal bleeding.
* Miscarriage: A miscarriage is the loss of a pregnancy before 20 weeks of gestation. This can cause light orange or brown vaginal bleeding.

These symptoms could be signs of a serious medical condition, such as an ectopic pregnancy or a miscarriage.
