Boracic acid should not be used in an eye wash. The Boric Acid Institute website includes this information: "Due to its severe acute toxic nature and significant potential of causing harm to people, even in small amounts and/or in low concentrations, boric acid should not be used in any OTC drug products, including but not limited to those in the following product categories: any product or application labeled for use with children under the age of three; any product or application labeled or otherwise intended to be used on or around the eyes; and any product applied as a spray or powder."
