What is metamorphine used for?
Metamorphine does not occur as a natural compound. Rather, it is the name coined for a hypothetical "drug of obedience" mentioned in Aldous Huxley's dystopian novel *Brave New World* (1932). Metamorphine acts on an individual's nervous system such that the person is incapable of rebellious activity without also triggering intense pain due to a chemical change.
