How to Clear a Quartz With Saltwater

- Quartz crystal
- Sea salt
- Teaspoon
- Glass container
- Tap water

Fill a drinking glass, or other glass container, with water. Use a glass that has no metallic trim, paint or other metallic elements. Add four teaspoons of unrefined sea salt. Table salt may contain iodine or anti-caking agents and is less effective than pure sea salt (See Reference 2).

Salt forms crystals that resemble quartz. Immerse your crystal in the salt water and leave it immersed for at least one week (See Reference 2).

Remove your crystal from the salt water and dispose of the water. Wash the crystal under running tap water to complete the cleansing (See Reference 2).

Like a leaf, a crystal will be energized by the morning sun. Place your stone on a ceramic saucer and put it in the sunlight for two to three hours to re-charge the crystal. Bright, early morning sunshine is most effective (See Reference 1).
