Chakra & Balancing

Practitioners of alternative medicine say that wheels of light all over your body -- called chakras -- absorb everything your body experiences, from the physical to the emotional. Medical intuitive Caroline Myss claims that keeping your chakras balanced is integral to having a sound mind and body.
  1. Chakras

    • Seven major chakras form a vertical column in your body. Brenda Martin of WorldwideHealth says you have chakras at the top of your head, between your eyebrows, in your throat, heart, solar plexus, spleen, and at the base of your spine. Each chakra is associated with certain organs and glands, which can have physical effects when one of your chakras is imbalanced.

    Balancing Chakras

    • Martin states you can restore imbalanced chakras with a few simple exercises. You can use colored crystals and essential oils to create the healing vibrations that rebalance your chakras. Visualization and affirmations also create positive energy that your chakras absorb and counteract any negativity that has caused an imbalance.

    Benefits

    • In her article "Charkras: Your Energetic Being," mystic Caroline Myss explains that blocked or misdirected chakras can cause both physical or emotional illnesses. You can avoid maladies such as headaches, difficulties sleeping, nervousness and allergies by keeping your chakras in balance.
