How to Use Visualization
Instructions
-
-
1
Sit in a comfortable spot where it is quiet and you will not be disturbed.
-
2
Close your eyes and picture in your mind a red apple. See a bright red juicy apple. Hold this image in your mind.
-
3
Use all of your senses while visualizing. Smell the apple. Breathe in the scent. Feel the apple against your fingertips. The apple skin should feel smooth and cool. Bite into the apple. Enjoy the sweet taste. Did you hear the crunch of your teeth sinking into the apple?
-
4
Relax, open your eyes and let the image fade away. Repeat this exercise 2 to 3 times per week to increase your ability to visualize effectively. You don't have to use the image of an apple each time you visualize. Use different objects such as a rose, a car, a house or a tree.
-
5
Repeat the above steps but visualize a place instead of an object. Form an image in your mind of a place where you can relax and be happy. Use all of your senses. Hear the birds. Feel the wind. Smell the honeysuckle.
-
6
Repeat the above steps once again but this time visualize a situation. For example, if you applied for a new job imagine the employer shaking your hand and welcoming you to the company. Visualize yourself telling your family that you got the job. Feel the happiness and excitement.
-
7
Set goals and work toward manifesting them through visualization. Make a list of goals. You might want to start small and work your way up to larger long-term goals. Visualize one goal at a time and see yourself achieving it. Don't give up if you don't manifest your desired goal overnight. Visualization takes time, patience and practice. Just let go and trust that your goal will be attained.
