Quantum Physics & Healing
The New Age movement of the twentieth century introduced new perspectives on spirituality, healing and reality. Discoveries made in the world of physics brought the quantum realm to life. As a result, quantum healing practices developed into an alternative approach that applies the principles of physics to the body's process of healing and recovery.-
Quantum Theory
-
The principles behind quantum physics can be summed up in a quote made by Albert Einstein: "All matter is Energy." Quantum physics is the study of subatomic matter and the properties of energy. During the early part of the twentieth century, atomic particles were shown to behave differently than what was once assumed. Subatomic particles such as electrons and neutrons were thought be fixed pieces of matter. Discoveries revealed that these particles actually exhibited wave and particle properties--all depending on how the scientists measured them. Matter and energy were found to be interchangeable. This interchangeable aspect of matter is where health and healing applications come into play.
Chi Energy
-
According to ancient Chinese practices, there is a life force energy that sustains all living beings. Healing practices like acupuncture and acupressure are based on this chi principle and how it affects the health of the body and mind. When chi energy flows freely, the body is able to function normally. Should energy flow become blocked within certain areas of the body, sickness occurs. Acupuncture and acupressure methods are designed to remove these blockages and restore the body's natural energy flow. This relationship between energy and the body is based on the principles of quantum physics.
Thought Energy
-
One theory in quantum physics refers to a concept called the wave-particle function. This theory further examines the interchangeable nature of particles and waves. Scientists found that the act of measuring affected the outcome--scientists either found a particle or a wave as the end result of the measurement, with the measurement itself being a key player in which outcome resulted. This principle is somewhat akin to the fields of Zen meditation, Transcendental meditation and yoga. Within these fields, a thought is believed to carry an energy force that can influence events and conditions within the physical world. Meditation practices are believed to tap into the healing powers of the mind through thought-wave processes. In effect, by concentrating on a thought (wave), the thought begins to materialize in real life (particle).
Energy Healing
-
Energy healing practices like Reiki are based on raising a person's energy levels. Low energy levels are believed to be the conditions in which illness can take place. Reiki is a Japanese method where practitioners manipulate energy channels in the body through hand-massage techniques. This practice is intended to promote calm and reduce stress blockages within the body. Blockages within the body correspond to mental blocks, or stressors in the mind. In effect, the energy carried by a person's thoughts is believed to affect the energy flow channels within the body.
Bio-Energetic Testing
-
Bio-energetic testing is method of collecting medical data on a person based on the energy frequencies that are present in the body. These procedures track tissue, organ and organ system frequencies. Information gathered is then used to determine how to treat whatever condition is present. The tracking devices run off of a computerized model that contains frequency readings on various harmful agents like bacteria, viruses and radiation. Homeopathic treatment cures are then used to re-establish the body's energy balance, restore deficiencies and neutralize any toxins in the body.
