Fruit Flush Diet Instructions

Poor nutrition, environmental pollutants, and mental stress all strain the human body, especially systems such as the liver and large intestine that filter and eliminate waste products. Some people practice an occasional detoxification program to restore optimal health. A detox may consist of the ingestion of nothing but water over the course of several days to a week. But some, especially newcomers to the detox process, may opt for a less rigorous fruit flush or fast. Proponents claim that detoxification prevents and even cures degenerative diseases such as diabetes, cardiac problems, arthritis, and cancer, as well as restore vitality and overall health.

Instructions

    • 1

Eat plenty of fruit throughout the day, typically two or three pieces every two hours, from waking until bedtime. Citrus fruits such as oranges and grapefruits are preferred, as they contain a great deal of water which helps with flushing. Use grapes, apples and pears as well. Nectar-producing fruits, such as bananas, peaches and pineapple will keep you feeling full, so include them in your plan. If desired, use the juicer to make juice from the fresh fruit -- do not use bottled or canned juices.

Drink plenty of water. Plan on drinking at least one 8oz to 12 oz glass of distilled water with every fruit serving.

    • 3

Exercise your body at least enough to break a sweat. Sweating helps clear your body of toxins. Body movement will help stimulate the muscle contractions, called "peristalsis," that push waste products through the large intestine.
