Foot Patch - Overnight Detox
Using a foot patch to detoxify your system has become a popular way to cleanse yourself of toxins. We live in a polluted society where everything has a toxic effect on our bodies, from the water to the food and air. The philosophy behind detox foot patches holds that they slowly bring toxins to the soles of your feet and pull them out of your body.-
Brands and Types
-
As of 2009, several different brands have come onto the market, but all of them have a similar purpose: to detox your body through the soles of the feet. Some patches have a sachet of herbs that you adhere to your feet, and other patches simply have a sticky adhesive on one side that reportedly increases circulation of the feet and brings toxins to the surface.
Use
-
To use the foot detox patches, apply them to the soles of your feet at night after washing and drying your feet. Do not apply lotion or any chemicals to your skin. Sleep in the patches for up to 12 hours. Some patches require you to wrap them over the edges of your feet, so read the instructions carefully. Overnight, the patches attract the toxic chemicals in your body and pull them from your system. In the morning, peel off your patches and see whether they have become discolored---an indication that the patches have drawn toxins out of your body. Discard these used patches and repeat the process the next night and every night until the patches look clean in the morning. If other areas of your body become inflamed or painful, apply the patches to that area and see whether they help reduce the pain.

Side Effects
-
Foot detox patches have yet to produce any documented negative side effects, but the FDA has not approved them for medical use. Some controversy has developed over whether simply sweat, rather than toxins, that changes the color of the patches.
