How to Build an Ionic Foot Detox

The process of magnetically pulling the toxins from your body using an electrically charged saltwater bath is known as an ionic foot detox. Holistic healers swear by this detoxifying method to cleanse your body, but the cleanse is considered controversial due to lack of conclusive evidence. Try the detox out for your self by following this simple guide using household items.

Things You'll Need

  • Electrical tape
  • 2 5-foot pieces of electrical wire
  • 9-volt battery
  • Epsom salt
  • 2 stainless steel spoons
  • 2 alligator clips
  • 2 large bowl

Instructions

    • 1

Tape an end of the electrical wire to a silver spoon with the electrical tape. Repeat this for the second spoon and piece of wire.

    • 2

Fill each bowl with warm water. The bowls should be large enough to fit your entire foot in. Fill with enough water to cover the entirety of your foot and dissolve a tablespoon of salt in each.

    • 3

Clip the free ends of the wires to the battery. Attach one to the positive terminal and the other to the negative terminal. Which connects to which does not matter. Drop a spoon into each of the bowls.

    • 4

Place a foot in each bowl. Allow them to soak for 10 minutes, gradually increasing to 30 minutes over the weeks. Soak your feet everyday. The discoloration of the water that occurs is said to be the toxins being pulled from your body through your feet. For a better indication of which particular toxins, see the Color Chart in the Resources section.
