Natural Gallbladder Cleanse

The gallbladder is a small organ that stores bile, a liquid produced by the liver used for digestion. This doesn't sound like a very important job, but when the gallbladder doesn't do it correctly or becomes impaired, you can suffer from painful medical problems. Gallstones, small pieces of calcified cholesterol, are probably the most common gallbladder ailment. Sometimes gallstones have no symptoms and remain undiscovered for years. But gallstone attacks are extremely painful and can lead to even more serious conditions. Take steps to avoid them
  1. Gallbladder Flush

    • Prevent or treat gallbladder problems with natural gallbladder cleanses, sometimes also called gallbladder flushes. These use natural ingredients to help clean out your gallbladder and flush out any gallstones. If you have gallstones, even if you do not suffer from any overt symptoms or attacks, you may still want to try to get rid of them. Gallstones can, at any time, become lodged in the bile duct, which is not only painful but can cause inflammation or infection of the gallbladder.

There are different recipes for performing a gallbladder cleanse, but the most common is the apple juice diet. To perform this cleanse, you will need apple juice, preferably fresh or organic, olive oil, epsom salt, and lemon juice or grapefruit juice. For the first three days, drink the apple juice. Some instructions call for consuming nothing but apple juice and some allow small meals of fresh fruit and salads. After three days, drink a half a cup of olive oil before you go to bed that night. You won't be able to drink this by itself, so add lemon juice or pure grapefruit juice until you are able to get it all down. Go to bed. Lie on your right side. In the morning, you should pass a number of green or dark stones. You can do a one-day mini-version of the cleanse every week until no more green substance comes out.

Different time periods are recommended for the apple juice phase, from one day to six days. There are also some versions that recommend drinking a glass of warm water with Epsom salts the morning after you drink the olive oil.

    Warnings

    • Never try any diet or cleanse without consulting your doctor. Despite many who swear by the cleanse, most doctors do not recommend natural flushes as treatment for gallbladder problems. Medical experts usually recommend surgery for gallstones, and say that the small rocks passed after a gallbladder cleanse are simply hardened pieces of olive oil and not truly gallstones at all.
