Body Cleanse Menu
During any type of cleanse, the goal is to help the body get rid of built-up toxins within the system to increase energy and overall health and well-being. While on a cleanse or fast, it is important to consume enough nutritious foods such as fruits and vegetables to stay hydrated and supply valuable vitamins and minerals to the body. In order to prepare for a cleanse, it is suggested to refrain from alcohol, coffee, sugar and all animal products at least a week prior to the cleanse for maximum results and reduce withdrawal symptoms such as caffeine headaches.-
Foods to Eat
-
Shopping for the body cleanse menu is simple, and all the foods can be found in grocery stores. Fruits and vegetables may be selected based on what is in season, and choosing organic products is recommended; however non-organic fruits and vegetables are also acceptable. Fruits that are often used in a body cleanse include: watermelons, pears, apples, bananas, melons, peaches, grapes, citrus fruits, berries, papayas and coconuts. Vegetables include: avocados, bell peppers, cauliflower, cabbage, carrots, dark green lettuce varieties, squash and potatoes.
During any cleanse or fast, drinking at least 64 oz. of water each day is important to keep the body hydrated as well as assisting the body in flushing out toxins from internal organs and skin.
Breakfast
-
For breakfast, the body-cleanse menu should consist of any type of fruit you would like, including a vegetable such as lettuce or avocado. Avocado is an ideal vegetable to include in many meals, since the natural fat content helps you to feel full until the next meal.
For a simple breakfast, simply blend your favorite fruits together to create a smoothie or add them to a juicer to consume a naturally healthy source of vitamins and minerals. Delicious fruit combinations for smoothies include:
1/2 cup of any type of berries blended with a medium papaya
1 cup of strawberries, 1 banana, 1/2 cup of peaches and 1 cup fresh apple juice
1 peach, 1 cucumber, 1 banana and 2 sprigs of fresh mintFinish off the meal with a cup of warm herbal tea or water.
Lunch
-
On the body cleanse menu, lunch consists of a large salad filled with many vegetables. Choose a dark green, leafy type of lettuce that contains the most nutrients such as Romaine. Fill the salad with as many vegetables as you would like, including carrots, bell peppers, cucumber, tomatoes, avocado and beets and toss with a simple vinaigrette.
To make a vinaigrette at home, combine equal parts of extra-virgin olive oil with a citrus fruit like orange or lemons and mix together, drizzling on the salad. If you still feel hungry after the salad, have a plain, steamed potato to tide hunger over until dinner.
Dinner
-
For dinner, eat as many fruits and vegetables as desired as long as they are consumed equally. If you still feel hungry after the fruits and vegetables, have some additional steamed vegetables like cabbage or broccoli. You may also have another steamed potato if you feel hungry after the steamed vegetables.
After dinner, have a warm herbal tea to help with digestion or a cup of water.
