Foot Bath Ingredients
-
You can use a variety of ingredients in your detox bath. Add one cup of Epsom salts to help soothe aching muscles and make you feel relaxed. Baking soda also works well to deodorize and help prevent your feet from sweating.
Or try peppermint and/or chamomile tea bags. They not only help relax your foot muscles and draw out toxins, they can also increase the flow of energy to the respiratory and circulatory systems. You can also use honey, which has antibacterial and antioxidant properties and will also moisturize the skin.
Preparing the Foot Bath
-
Fill a basin large enough to immerse your feet with hot water. Three to four cups is sufficient. The water should be as hot as you can stand without burning yourself. Soak your feet for 30 minutes. You should see the foot bath change colors (anything from brown to orange to yellow). This indicates that the toxins are being removed.
When finished soaking, brush your feet with a natural fiber brush to remove toxins that may be clinging to your feet. This will also help exfoliate the dead skin cells. Rinse your feet with warm water. If your feet need lotion, apply only 100% Aloe Vera lotion. This will prevent toxins from other lotions from being immediately reintroduced into your system.
For best results, the foot bath should be performed once a day for the first week. After that, you should soak feet in the detox bath twice a week for a month. The foot bath may be used for maintenance once per week after the first month.
