GNC Complete Body Cleansing Program Instructions

The Complete Body Cleansing Program, a seven-day detox program sold at GNC stores, is one of the most popular diet and fasting products currently on the market. The program includes several different products to be consumed over the course of a week. GNC claims that the product is an effective detoxifier of the liver, kidneys, colon and stomach. The program also includes several separate dietary supplements: fiber, laxative, blood circulation formula, liver tonic, diuretic, enzyme complex, "total cleanser," probiotic and prebiotic. These supplements are organized into a morning packet, evening packet, fiber packet and probiotic packet.
  1. Morning Packet

    • GNC recommends that the supplements in the "A.M. Packet" be taken immediately after waking up. The supplements in this set include GNC's digestive enzyme blend, total cleanser and a "gastro formula" designed to improve digestion. For best results, the user should eat breakfast within an hour of taking the contents of the morning packet. This assures that the breakfast foods are adequately absorbed and digested, with a minimal amount of discomfort, gas and bloating.

    Fiber and Prebiotic Blend

    • The fiber and prebiotic supplement in the Complete Body Cleansing program should also be taken in the morning. Because it includes psyllium husk and other sources of bulk fiber, this packet can increase feelings of fullness, while facilitating cleansing of the bowels. Additionally, this powder includes prebiotics, which improve the health of "friendly" intestinal bacteria. The fiber and prebiotic blend should be mixed with 4 to 6 oz. of juice or water and taken with breakfast.

    Evening Packet

    • The evening packet in the Complete Body Cleansing Program should be taken with dinner or a late-evening snack. The P.M. packet contains the same digestive enzymes as the morning packet, as well as several other detoxifying herbs and supplements. The blood circulation formula, kidney formula and liver formula are all components of the evening program. The probiotic supplement, which contains acidophilus and bifidobacterium, should also be taken with an evening meal.
