Colon Cleansing Drinks
The colon's purpose is to maintain your body's balance of fluids and electrolytes and absorb water and mineral salts while eliminating waste matter and bacteria. We consume lots of toxic substances every day, which means lots of unwanted material reaches the colon. Impacted fecal matter can also cause toxins to spread through your body and result in problems such as lack of energy, constipation and abdominal pain. We can get rid of these toxins by taking a number of colon cleansing drinks. They should be taken in consultation with a physician or other licensed health care professional. To be effective in detoxification, these colon cleansing drinks should be combined with fasting and the use of enemas.-
Lemon
-
Measure two tablespoons each of freshly-squeezed lemon and pure grade B or grade C maple syrup into a large glass. Add 10 to 14 ounces of water that is room temperature or warmer. Add a pinch of cayenne and then stir thoroughly. Drink the whole glassful. Be sure to use fresh-squeezed juice and distilled water, and mix each time just before drinking. Gradually increase the amount of cayenne as you become used to it. Avoid Grade A maple syrup because this is over-refined.
Apple
-
Mix together 1/3 cup water, ½ cup organic apple juice, a teaspoon each of bentonite and whey powder, and a heaping teaspoon of psyllium or other intestinal cleanser. Drink this five times a day, and in between drink herbal tea, freshly pressed juice and clear broths, to keep your body hydrated. You should also take at least two enemas a day.
Green Papaya
-
Papaya, or paw paw, contains papain, a powerful enzyme which can remove toxins and dissolve hardened mucus. Blend about 7 ounces of green papaya with some water and other types of fruit, and drink this first thing in the morning and all through the rest of that day. You can facilitate the process by taking an herbal laxative and drinking a psyllium shake twice a day.
Sea Salt
-
This is a very simple and affordable way of flushing your colon in the privacy of your home. Mix together two teaspoons of pure sea salt and two quarts of pure water. Drink this mixture in the morning, and your colon will be flushed out over the next few hours, leaving you feeling clean, energetic and without any uncomfortable bloating.
