To flush a med port catheter, you will need the following materials:
* A syringe filled with sterile saline solution
* A needle
* A catheter extension
* A clamp
Instructions:
1. First, wash your hands and the area around the med port catheter with soap and water.
2. Next, connect the needle to the syringe filled with saline solution.
3. Then, attach the catheter extension to the needle.
4. Clamp the catheter extension.
5. Insert the needle into the med port catheter.
6. Open the clamp and allow the saline solution to flush through the catheter.
7. Close the clamp and remove the needle from the catheter.
8. Dispose of the needle and syringe in a sharps container.
9. Reconnect the catheter extension to the med port.
