Does metal or brass goblets kill germs such as used in communion church?

In fact, studies have shown that these goblets can actually be a breeding ground for bacteria, as the saliva of multiple users can collect on the rim of the cup and create a favorable environment for microbial growth. To prevent the spread of germs during communion, it is recommended that churches use individual, disposable communion cups or practice thorough cleaning and sanitization of reusable cups between uses.
