Home Remedies for Acidity & Gas
Burping, gas, acidity and feeling bloated can be embarrassing. However, it is a natural occurrence and can be treated with the right medicines or home remedies. Over-the-counter and prescriptions medicines are expensive and can put a dent in your pocket book. Before purchasing these expensive medications, try some home remedies to ease your pain.-
Mint Juice

Acidity is related to gas formation and heartburn, and causes a burning sensation in your chest. Drink mint juice or take mint capsules after a meal to help prevent heartburn, recommends Ayushveda.com. Mint juice and capsules are available at your local health food store. Take the recommended dosage on the bottle.
Chamomile

Use chamomile in a dry herb form to make a tea. Pour a cup of boiling water over 2 tsp. of chamomile. Cover and allow to steep for at least 15 minutes. Strain the tea and let cool. Drink to relieve bloating and gas. According to Health911, give babies with colic 1/4 cup of this tea before each feeding. Dilute the tea with 1/4 cup water before feeding it to an infant.
Peppermint

Use peppermint in tea form or leaves to relieve bloating and gas. Peppermint removes accumulated gas from the intestines and stomach. Pour 1 cup of boiling water over 2 tsp. of the dry peppermint herb and steep for 15 minutes. Let cool, then strain completely and drink. You can also chew on peppermint leaves after meals to relieve gas.
Fruits

Fruits such as papaya, banana, watermelon and cucumbers relieve the burning sensation caused by acidity.
Garlic Broth

Make a garlic broth using a crushed garlic clove and 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil and add ginger for taste if desired. Let the broth stand for at least 15 minutes or until cool. Drink the broth to encourage the release of gas and aid in digestion, according to Granny Med.

Foods that relive acidity include almonds and raw garlic. Drink coconut water or cold milk for acidity and heartburn.
Parsley

Parsley is a digestive aid and works to relieve gas, states Granny Med. Just chew on raw parsley leaves after a meal to relieve any gas. Parsley comes in curly leaf and flat leaf forms; however, be sure not to use to parsley root. Blend the leaves into a juice for a stronger laxative effect. Do not consume more than 2 oz. of parsley leaves at a time.
