How to Mix Salt and Hydroquinone for the Skin
Taking care of the skin is an important part of looking your best and feeling healthy. When skin becomes unhealthy in appearance—because of acne, for example, or discoloration—low self-esteem may follow. Salt has been used for healing for generations and it can be used to help improve the appearance of skin by minimizing acne and helping clean the skin.Unlike salt, which cleans and heals, hydroquinone is used to fade dark spots and skin discoloration. A combination of the two is used by some people toward the objective of skin with a healthier appearance.

1
Add 1 tsp. of salt to 8 to 12 ounces of water. The salt must be completely dissolved for the best effects, so mix it in the bowl or cup with a spoon until there are no salt crystals remaining. Rinse the face and other trouble spots with warm salt water once a day. The morning is the best time, as salt cleans away excess oils that build up while sleeping. Allow the salt water to sit for a minute or two before rinsing with clean water.

2
Add salt to warm bath water for a soaking experience if you have skin problems on other areas of the body. Rinse with clean water after soaking.
-
3
Make a mixture of salt and olive oil once a week. Apply this to the face and leave it for 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing. This acts as a natural mask that will improve the skin over time. Mix 2 to 3 tsp. olive oil and 1/4 tsp. salt. Apply it to the face or other trouble spots.

4
Apply hydroquinone cream to dark spots every night before going to sleep. Hydroquinone lightens dark spots and improves skin pigmentation to give the skin an overall healthy and even skin tone.
-
5
Apply sunscreen daily. Hydroquinone is a "bleaching" agent that evens out skin tone, but it has the side effect of making skin less resistant to UVA and UVB rays. Applying sunscreen will help avoid sunburns while using hydroquinone.
