How to Get Rid of Spider Veins With Coconut Oil

Years of standing and sitting for extended hours, improper posture and crossing your legs can cause spider veins to appear on your legs. Spider veins are usually caused by poor circulation, and are difficult to remove or hide; often it seems the only remedy is to hide your legs or have surgery to remove the unsightly veins. Massaging coconut oil into the affected area can help diminish dark spider veins in a natural way, without harsh chemicals or surgery.

Instructions

    • 1

Clean the area where you have the spider veins with warm water, using a sponge. Pat the area dry with a clean towel.

    • 2

Warm the coconut oil to a comfortable temperature, around 76 degrees Fahrenheit. The easiest way to do this is by immersing the bottle of massage oil in a pan of hot water until the bottle feels warm to the touch. Heat the water in the microwave or in a small saucepan on the stove; remove it from the heat and then add the bottle of coconut oil.

    • 3

Gently massage the warm coconut oil into your skin for five to fifteen minutes, at least two times each day. Begin with a puddle of oil in your hand about the size of a quarter; add more if needed. There should not be any friction when massaging.
