How to Use Sea Buckthorn Oil

A shrub native to the highlands of Russia and China, sea buckthorn has been used as an herbal supplement and cosmetic since the time of ancient Greece. Sea buckthorn oil has increased in popularity among Western practitioners of herbal and alternative medicine as a rich source of vitamin A and C, as well as antioxidants. The oil is either taken internally -- to help with indigestion, ulcers, reducing the duration of a common cold or assisting with the side effects of chemotherapy -- or applied externally, as a skin moisturizer and to soothe rashes.
