How to Hide Grapefruit Seed Extract in Drinks
Grapefruit seed extract (GSE) comes from grapefruit seeds and has a wide variety of uses in alternative medicine. Scientific research conducted by faculty members at the School of Medicine, University of Texas Medical Branch, indicates that GSE is effective at killing bacteria. Anecdotal evidence suggests that the extract is effective in treating vaginal yeast infections, bladder infections, Candida overgrowth syndrome, fungal infections and intestinal parasites. One drawback of GSE is its incredibly bitter taste. You can mask the bitterness by hiding the extract in fruit juice.Things You'll Need
- Fruit juice

1
Pour at least 5 oz. of fruit juice into your glass. Orange juice and cranberry juice work well because they have strong, slightly bitter flavors that will mask the GSE. If you do not like bitter drinks at all, choose a sweeter juice such as apple, grape or pineapple.
-
2
Add between 5 and 15 drops of GSE. If you are sensitive to bitter flavors, add fewer drops. Taste the juice/GSE combination as you add drops to see if you can handle more GSE.

3
Stir the mixture with a spoon and enjoy.
