How to Fill Empty Capsules
Some herbal remedies offer you relief for your symptoms but cause pains in the wallet. If you order the same herbs in bulk and package them yourself using a capsule machine, you can save a significant amount of money and have greater control over the quality of the supplements you take. You can also create custom herbal blends, making self-filled capsules ideal for herbal healers and natural health practitioners. A well-constructed capsule machine will provide you with years of service.Things You'll Need

1
Lay a sheet of newspaper over your work surface to protect it and to make clean-up quick and easy.
-
2
Place the stand of your capsule machine on the paper and position the base on top of the stand. The base is the largest piece.
-
3
Separate the number of empty capsules you intend to fill. Locate the press cover and place it on your work surface with the holes facing upward. Gently press the short half of each capsule into a hole in the cover.
-
4
Press the long half of each capsule into the holes in the base that correspond to the same holes in the cover so that when you place the cover on the base, each pill top fits into a pill bottom. Set the cover aside once you make sure you've positioned all the pill halves correctly.
-
5
Spoon about a tablespoon of powdered herbs over the long pill halves in the base of the capsule machine. Use a playing card, credit card or the plastic card that came with your machine to sweep the powder back and forth across the capsules until they appear full.
-
6
Press the cover onto the base to put the pills back together. Press gently, then remove the cover from the stand. Place it on your work surface and press the cover down firmly to make sure each pill half connect snugly with its mate. The pills will free themselves from the machine as you remove and press down on the top of the cover.
