How to Make Kava Tea Without Boiling Water

Kava tea is made from the ground root of the Polynesian kava plant. The tea is believed to relieve stress and also has mild analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties, according to Linda B. White, MD, author of "The Herbal Drug Store." You need to brew the tea with hot water, to activate the healing compounds, but boiling is not necessary. Boiling water can reduce the tea's effectiveness. You can find ground kava root in health food stores or through online retailers. Consult your physician before taking an herbal supplement.
