Instructions

  1. Ginger Tea

    • 1

Grate 1 to 2 tsp. of fresh ginger.

    • 2

Add the grated ginger to 2 cups of water in a medium-sized saucepan.

    • 3

Put the saucepan over high heat on the stove and bring the ginger and water mixture to a boil.

    • 4

Simmer the ginger and water mixture for three to four minutes. Leave the saucepan uncovered during this step.

    • 5

Add both chamomile and peppermint tea leaves to the ginger and water mixture. The amount of tea leaves that you add will depend on your particular taste; add more tea leaves for a stronger taste and fewer for a milder flavor. Alternatively, you may add just one of the teas if you prefer.

    • 6

Cover the saucepan and remove it from the heat after you add the tea. Let the ginger, water and tea mixture stand for five minutes.

    • 7

Add honey to the mixture if you prefer sweetened tea.

    • 8

Strain the mixture to separate the tea from the tea leaves and ginger, and enjoy.

    Ginger Bath

    • 9

Fill your bathtub with hot water; choose a temperature that is appropriate for soaking your body. Perform the ginger bath right before bedtime.

    • 10

Grate 1/8 cup of fresh ginger and stir it into the bath water along with one cup of Epsom salts.

    • 11

Brush your skin with a vegetable brush before entering the bathtub, which will help to exfoliate your skin. Brush in circular motions.

    • 12

Step into the bathtub carefully, and sit with your legs extended in front of you. Immerse your body in the water as much as possible. Do not immerse your head.

    • 13

Get out of the tub after 30 minutes and dry your body with a clean towel. Wrap your body in a large towel or sheet and relax in your bed for the evening, falling asleep at will. Your body may be warm or even hot during the night as it detoxes; this is normal. Change your towel as needed. Drink plenty of water throughout the night and next day in order to prevent dehydration.
